A dinitrophenol-based colorimetric chemosensor sequentially sensing Cu2+ and S2?, HDHT ((E)-2-(2-(2-hydroxy-3,5-dinitrobenzylidene)hydrazineyl)-N,N,N-trimethyl-2-oxoethan-1-aminium), was designed synthesized. The selectively detected through a color change of yellow to colorless. calculated detection limit the for 6.4 × 10?2 ?M. In interference test, not considerably inhibited by various metal ions in its Cu2+. chelation ratio determined as 1:1 using Job plot ESI-MS experiment. addition, HDHT–Cu2+ complex showed that returned only presence S2?. S2? be 1.2 10?1 inhibition experiment did significantly interfere with other anions. real water-sample performance successfully examined. features were suggested plot, UV–Vis, ESI-MS, FT-IR spectroscopy, DFT calculations.
